How Our 2020 Went...

Seasons Greetings,

How's the holiday going? I hope you're resting well and good?

Phew! 2020 was quite the year wasn't it? With the unforeseen turn of events, I think the word we learnt was "Adaptability". 2020 was a test of our mental, physical, and even business well-being.

Most especially with the Pandemic, businesses truly learnt the meaning of the term "Survival of the fittest" as they had to change with the tide or risk being sucked under.

You know, it's at times like these that we must pause and reflect on how much we have achieved despite all the odds. That's why I'm writing you today, to join me as I go down memory lane and explore the feats we at Bellafricana achieved this year.

So, kick your feet up, grab a snack and munch as we take this trip. Ready? Let's go

January
kicked off with us having our members-only meetup. This was a time to get Bellafricana members to reflect on the past year and create opportunities to do better in the New Year.

February
came and in partnership with Digital Marketing Skill Institute, we held an intensive training on running Facebook and Instagram ads. This training benefited attendees so much so, that even months after, testimonials were still flying in.

As an organization that is explorative and evolving, we held our first webinar workshop, in March featuring Bukky Asehinde (Little did we know that webinars were here to stay).

We also held our second meetup of the year at the Kofe Club, Lekki. We reviewed Grant Cardone's "Sell or be sold" and "" and sought out ways to apply lessons learned in Business.

As April was ushered in, the Covid-19 pandemic forced us all to pause. We at Bellafricana had to resort to remote working, amidst other difficult changes that had to be made.

A lot of businesses had to close up shop in compliance to the state laws, and the general mood was dampened. Even online businesses couldn't function properly for fear of being labelled insensitive. That was not the only reason. People had begun to develop the mindset that consumers weren't buying anymore.

We wanted to help spread positive vibes as well as create a means to help business owners use tactical selling to get on track.

What we did? We launched the Bellafricana Creatives Challenge, a 30-day challenge featuring a calendar, with 30 days of free content ideas for use on business owners' socials. The result? Many Business owners recorded a tremenduous increase in sales. Others also felt connected to their audience more than ever.

We at Bellafricana weren't left out in the victory. That month, we recorded one of our highest organic membership growth.

We also had our first African virtual meetup. This event was spectacular because we were able to connect creatives from all-over Africa. Talk about Tanzania, Kenya, etcetera.

This was one of the ways we were able to adapt to fit the current situation. It was totally amazing.

In this same month, we had our first Instagram Live session with Tosin Oshinowo, founder of Ile Ila where we sat with her, sipping wine and discussing how we were able to adapt during the lockdown.

Then came May, and we did something amazing! We launched a fully functional membership platform, filled with resources, tools, guides and Templates to help business owners, grow and scale their business.

We also upgraded the membership model from 3-tier to 5-tier. In that same month, we moved our membership community to Telegram to accommodate our growing numbers. We also welcomed our first international memberπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

In June, we had members bonding programme to promote that sense of Family. We also launched our first E-book to help business owners grow and scale their business.

For the month of July, we hosted an Intensive sales masterclass with Paul Foh to teach business owners the art of selling.

How about August? We had our Bellafricana members games night as we took a break from Masterclasses. We also introduced the free listing option to support as many business owners and give more creative entrepreneurs the opportunity to be found online.

That's not all! We also had an IG LIVE session with Kunle Afolayan himself πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ. In that session, he shared tips as to how business owners can master the business of their talent.

In the same month, we had Members have a joint IG live session, to help them connect with their audiences and advertise their brand to a fresh pair of eyes.

September
saw us host a webinar on export. endorsed by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC)

We ushered in October with the launch of the first of its kind special package offer on Independence day. Because of this offer, we welcomed over 20 new members into the Bellafricana family!

In November, we had a 2-day session called the Bounce Back December Bootcamp to help business owners hit 7-figures in December. We had over 1,000 signups for the event with over 45% attendance.

Our partners NEPC & Eyowo also sponsored 8 businesses to be members.

In December, amidst much ado, we had the December gift exchange amongst members to encourage one another for finishing off strong in 2020

Bellafricana has not reached the peak of her development yet but she is steadily on her way there. Above all, we're thankful for the feats we achieved this year despite all this year brought us.

:Kindly click here: (Our 2020 Story) to watch the highlights from 2020 as we wrap up the year.

To everyone that has ever patronized Bellafricana members in one way or shown support in another way, thank you.

We hope this support continues for many years to come.

Round off the year in good tidings, celebrate with friends and family and we'll see you next Year.

Very warm wishes from Bellafricana.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
